26 May 2015 the Victorian Government released its response to the State of the Environment Report 2013.
accordance with the Commissioner for
Environmental Sustainability Act 2003,
the former Commissioner for Environment and Sustainability, Professor Kate Auty,
prepared the report titled Victoria:
State of the Environment 2013, which was tabled in parliament on 28
copy of the report is available from https://www.ces.vic.gov.au/publications/state-environment-report-2013
report, and the government response provided here, will be used to inform the
significant work currently underway to better manage and protect the
environment. This includes the development of a statewide biodiversity
strategy, banning cattle grazing in the Alpine and River Red Gum national parks,
a refresh of Plan Melbourne to better consider climate change, the review of
the Climate Change Act 2010 and an
investigation of an achievable emissions reductions target.
