Emergency Management collaborations and partnerships, including Municipal Emergency Management Enhancement Groups (MEMEGs) are regional committees linking councils with their neighbours and emergency management agencies to collectively strengthen emergency management capability and capacity.
Regional MEMEGs, including emergency management collaborations and partnerships, are represented on a State MEMEG committee which aims to enable greater understanding, collaboration and knowledge sharing within the emergency management sector. The State MEMEG recently endorsed the MEMEG Strategic Plan 2015-2020 [PDF File - 1.1 MB] to direct these activities.
MEMEGs are recognised in the Emergency Management Manual Victoria (EMMV) under the current state emergency management and planning committee structure at State and Regional levels.
Local Government Victoria acts as a conduit between state and local government on emergency management issues in partnership with the Municipal Association of Victoria and Emergency Management Victoria.
