Secretary John Bradley

As Australia’s fastest growing state, Victoria faces a range of opportunities and challenges.

The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) brings its collective expertise to these challenges across climate change, environment,  water, energy, land management, planning, local government, emergency management and works to deliver our vision of thriving environments and communities.

The Corporate Plan 2019–23 is an important opportunity to re-examine our priorities, evaluate our approach and ensure we deliver value to our stakeholders and the community.

Our corporate plan sets out 8 outcomes we are working towards, uniting and informing our work across 5 portfolios, 8 business groups, more than 4000 people and over 80 locations.

Greater collaboration, both within the department and across organisational boundaries with our stakeholders and partners, is a growing focus of our approach.

Our community charter remains at the centre of what we do. Keeping our promises to the communities we serve is necessary to building trust and delivering in partnership.

The alignment of our work with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is an important new focus, enhancing our ongoing commitment to sustainable development both locally and globally.

From 1 July, Solar Victoria will lead the delivery of the Solar Homes program helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by almost 4 million tonnes and reduce the cost of energy for Victorian households.

We look forward to collaborating with our community, our colleagues and our partners across the state in delivering this plan, united in our vision for thriving environments and communities.

John Bradley
