Hearing and understanding the views, experiences, and ideas of Victorians about forests and forest use is important to the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) as we reform forest management.
Victorians are informing changes to how forests are managed by sharing their views, experiences, and ideas at workshops, meetings, community drop ins, community events, and online.
Activities that have enabled discussion and input to planning so far include:
- Joint Government consultation on improvements to the Regional Forest Agreements
- The Future of our Forests consultation
- Special Interest Meetings
The Future of our Forests - 20 December 2018 to 31 March 2019
Victorians were invited to share what they value about our forests and how they use them. Victorians could share their views through an online survey, attending regional workshops or through the Youth Forest Symposium.

Special Interest Meetings - October 2018
Representatives from the timber industry, environment groups, the scientific community, Local Government and commercial and recreational groups met with staff from the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning.
